Daisy

On the edge of a cliff
— feet far from the ground —
Lies a daisy in mourning,
Not making a sound.

She knows she is rooted
So shallow this time;
Only a wind-blow from disaster,
Only she wouldn’t mind.

A free-fall to earth
Now rages her dreams;
A kick from reality,
As simple as it seems.
