Dear Moon

Let her be, sweet moon above,
Let her be.
Keep his silent songs of love
Where she cannot see.

Take his glowing figure from the mantel,
For you taunt her as she sings;
She knows she cannot have the individual
Trapped within your being.

His face so brightly pierces hers,
She says between the tears;
Their love so distant brings a hurt,
More than I make clear.

Let her be, sweet moon above,
Let her be.
