365 Days of Poetry — Day 188 — Subway Blues

Legs throbbing; ankles swollen; a pulling pain behind the eyes:
I just left the place I most disguise.
The smell of mayo gripping the nose; the thought of salami churning the stomach;
The lingering scent of the rinse sink; and the thought of doing it all again, making me sick.
